Monthly Taste Tests
New food? Don't be shy! Give it a try! Monthly taste tests of Georgia grown food will take place in the cafeteria as part of the Feed My School program. Food trivia questions will be featured on the morning news. Sharon will provide at least 75 percent Georgia Grown food on every cafeteria plate during a week in April!
September
Cafeteria manager, Dee Mathis, made a cucumber and tomato, and basil salad that was served in the lunch line. The fresh basil was grown in our very own DIGS!!! It was absolutely delicious and put a smile on many faces.

October
The Feed My School taste test for October was Butternut Squash and the response was positively overwhelming. We handed out about 500 samples during the lunch period and heard comments ranging from "really didn't like it" to "loved it!". Some students stated that their parents served butternut squash at home, while other students had never tasted butternut squash. It is very exciting to see students try something unusual and you never know what they are going to say. Sharon's Food Staff are very excited about the response and enthusiasm surrounding our Feed My School program.
