Activities
March/ April
Lifecycles of Chickens
March and April were exciting months out in the DIGS! We brought in a chicken coop and added a Silkie hen and rooster to live in the DIGS for a month. The kids named them Lula and Corny since we bought them on Cornelia Hwy in Lula, GA! The students were able to go out on any given day and check if the eggs had hatched and then, how much the chicks had grown from day to day. They were able to help feed them as well.
We also incorporated a little spring time fun into the lesson with our toss the chicken corn hole game and the rubber chicken tossing game that the teachers and admin were kind enough to play and show the kids how it’s done.
